Sunday night, the Oscars recognized the greatest talents of the film industry and celebrated movies that inspired us over the year. Among them, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” winning Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design and Best Original Score.

The Flanelle team can testify – I’m a huge fan of Wes Anderson’s work. Obviously, I was thrilled that it won in the fashion category of the night. If “The Grand Budapest Hotel” was candy for the eyes with perfect symmetry and composition, the colorful costumes designed by Mileno Canonero were simply outstanding. It comes to no surprise that they inspired so many of us, including Montreal brand Rachel F with a SS15 collection based on Anderson’s cinematography.

If you’re a fan like me, I also recommend this book to navigate through the set and the making of the “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”
