Montreal Bluesman Steve hill recently launched Solo Recordings Volume 3 – his 10th record – and it sounds remarkable. From blues to hard rock or country, the mix of these influences blend perfectly together in a way that is rather satisfying.

What is quite impressive about Hill’s album and performances is the fact that it’s a solo record, which means he is a one-man orchestra when he plays live. You’d think that being solo would make things much simpler for any artist, but it isn’t the case for this musician who really just keeps pushing boundaries. In Solo Recordings Volume 3, Hill came back to his classic blues roots and it sounds truly harmonious, refreshing and powerful at the same time.

I’ll let you hear for yourself below, with one of my favourites from the album.
