Now that you know who you want to spend the rest of your life with, it’s time to pop the question. Whether you have that beautiful engagement ring sitting in your sock drawer or you’re still trying to pick out the perfect ring for your partner, there are plenty of ways to ask them “Will you marry me?” this spring. Here are 10 romantic and memorable spring proposal plans to get you started.

  1. Proposal in the Park — Springtime is a beautiful time to propose in the park. The flowers are blooming. The birds are singing. You two can go for a walk in the park. When you reach a scenic point such as a landmark tree or bridge, you can get down on one knee and propose. If you two are having a picnic together, as you two finish your meals, you can ask your partner for their hand in marriage.
  2. Come Sail Away — Book a dinner cruise or rent a yacht. As you two watch the sunset together on the boat, you can propose to them. Just be sure that you’re not too close to the rail or edge of the boat where the beautiful new princess cut diamond ring you picked out just for them might accidentally fall overboard.
  • Hop on a Horse — Take a horseback ride together. It’s a fun activity that will help shake away any proposal nerves. When you two reach the end of the horseback ride, you can get off the horse and ask them the question. If you are riding with the ring, make sure it’s secured in a bag like a fanny pack, backpack or an inner jacket pocket.
  • Forest Fairytale Proposal — You’ll both feel like you’re in a fairytale if you propose to your partner in a forest. Find a scenic forest nearby. Variations of this kind of proposal can be in a flower field or garden. Your love is sure to bloom as you’re both surrounded by natural beauty.
  • Treasure Hunt — Go searching for engagement rings during this kind of treasure hunt proposal. Kids aren’t the only ones who should get all the fun with treasure hunts. Get chocolate eggs where you can fill them with small pieces of paper that say one quality you love or a memory you had with your partner that was really special. Once they’ve found all the eggs, you can present them with a larger chocolate egg with the engagement ring inside it.
  • In Your Backyard — If you don’t want to spend all that time, money and effort on booking a yacht or a roundabout treasure hunt, you can propose to your partner in your very own backyard. If you live in an apartment and don’t have a backyard, try your building’s rooftop or an intimate urban green space in your area. You can set up something like a candlelit dinner or have music playing in the background.
  • Hike to the Top — Plan a hike with a view at the top. As you two are enjoying the vista, your partner will be so pleasantly surprised when you’re down on one knee. You’ll be surrounded by mountains and trees. Make sure that you have a secure jacket or bag so that the ring stays secure during and after the hike.
  • Spring Road Trip — Have you ever thought about proposing on vacation? According to WeddingPro, about one in three engagements takes place on a planned trip. Go on a road trip with your significant other. When you two get to your destination, be it a romantic dinner in the city or a walk at night on the beach, you can propose to them.
  • Urban Adventure — Perhaps your road trip involves a night in a city like New York or San Francisco. These cities have so many beautifully photogenic points where you can snap photos to remember forever when you propose. Propose at a bridge or a famous skyscraper landmark. If you live in or nearby a small city, chances are it has scenic urban murals. Those public works of art also make for a great proposal opportunity.
  1.  Surrounded by Loved Ones — Get your partner’s loved ones involved in the proposal. If your significant other is the kind of person who would want to be surrounded by their closest friends and family when you propose, have them help with the proposal. You can ask your future mother-in-law to host a dinner. You can get your partner’s BFF to help decorate. This kind of proposal gets everyone involved and excited about the big question.

However you decide to propose, your partner is sure to be amazed when they see one of those shiny rose gold princess cut engagement rings when you’re down on one knee. Let your proposal reflect you. The moment will be perfect no matter what because it’s about you and your partner.
