/vahn-katr/

noun: twenty-four (origin French)

Vingt Quatre is a New York and Dubai-based contemporary womenswear label founded in 2018 by three sisters. Born and raised in the Middle East, the brand’s Designer and Creative Director, Sumaiyah, graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York. She then went on to design for New York-based brands – Theory, Helmut Lang, Alice + Olivia and Elie Tahari, from where she started to develop her own design perspective. She co-founded the brand with her sisters Humairah and Tehmina, whose backgrounds include Finance and Organizational Psychology.

Inspired by the concept of intentional living, Vingt Quatre creates a timeless edit of adaptive essentials that integrate with the modern woman’s wardrobe. It reflects both personal identity and a dynamic lifestyle, providing a rich and diverse portrait of today’s purposeful woman.

Lending to the authenticity of our Creative Director’s personal expression – Sumaiyah’s design philosophy lends to her affinity for defined cuts with subtle accents. She plays with understated balance and proportion, inspired by elements of art, design, interiors and architecture. Through exploring a fine balance of contrasts such as structure and fluidity, strength and softness, masculine and feminine, she reinterprets classic silhouettes with a sophisticated edge, resulting in pieces that embody the brands signature identity.

The distinctive silhouettes merge practicality with a sophisticated sensibility, connecting the two from day to night. Each series is designed to integrate seamlessly, allowing the pieces to layer and complement one another. The pieces exude an alchemy that one seeks; living with purpose, dressing with ease and the ability to command one’s own narrative, lending to a feeling of confidence and way of living.
