Creating Your Own Fashion-Forward Wedding Website

In recent years, more and more brides and grooms have chosen to incorporate wedding websites into their traditional wedding stationary. Creating your own wedding website is the perfect way to share the joy of your engagement, as well as additional information to make your big day run more smoothly. Details such as where to park and where to stay, which wouldn’t necessarily fit onto your formal invitation, can all be shared here. But many modern brides want their wedding websites to look fashion-forward and reflect the overall style of their Big Day. With this in mind, here’s everything you need to know about how you can create your own fashion-forward wedding website:

Incorporating Stylish Touches

The average cost of a wedding in the UK in 2019 was £31,974, but the good news is that the expense of your wedding website doesn’t have to contribute to this cost; many wedding website builders are completely free. That doesn’t mean that your website can’t look a million dollars though: with the right template, theme, and image choices, your website can have all of the same style and class as your wedding day.

A good rule of thumb is to shy away from bright, bold colours, instead focusing on neutrals and pastels to set the tone. You might also consider using black and white photos for your imagery, as these will have a more editorial feel, and keep all of your text black, and your fonts minimalist, for the same reasons. If your wedding has a theme then you can hint at this on your wedding website, but a good rule of thumb is to remember that ‘less is more’ when you’re creating your wedding website. Look to providers such as Joy wedding websites for minimalist yet fashion-forward templates that will do all the work for you. An understated page will always look more stylish than one that is overloaded with colour and details.

Style and Substance

As well as ensuring that your wedding website is stylish and well-coordinated, it’s important to ensure that it gives your wedding guests all the information they need. Some interesting features you might consider including on your website are:

-An ‘About Us’ page detailing information about your relationship, and perhaps a little more about how you met, when and where you got engaged, and any other interesting facts about the happy couple.

-A photographic ‘Who’s Who’ of the wedding party, making it easy for people to know who are the Best Man, Mother of the Bride, Bridesmaids and so on.

-The Little Details. The time and location of your wedding will be included on the invitation, but smaller details such as directions to the venue, parking instructions and places to stay would all be better placed on your wedding website. You can also add an FAQS section to ensure any potential question is answered, meaning people won’t bother you with the minutiae of their journey when you’re trying to slip into your dress!

-An Online RSVP is also a great idea, as it saves you from receiving dozens of fiddly bits of paper in the post! Instead, you can get all of your RSVPs online in one place, organize them instantly in to a spreadsheet, and save yourself the headache. After all, wedding planning should be fun, not hard work!
