Inspired by the japanese folklore tale ‘The Bamboo Cutter’ and the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, ‘De Rastros Vestida’ is the story about how the soul, alive and malleable, grows, fills with color and gets deformed through life with the experiences and memories that are drawn onto its skin of silk and plastic; only to be erased back into purity at the end. A tale of birth, adoration and longed-for death.
We dress ourselves with traces from the roads we crawled through, we dress our soul with what is genuine. I only want to work with what’s emotional. I never understood why people feel rejection towards unfiltered emotions. Why they prefer to stay on the surface.
Sinking is all that I know.
I only see through and within.
