The new SS’23 collection of the GASANOVA brand is the emotional reflection on difficult ordeals that our country is going through but with a strong belief in a bright future and absolute victory at the end. While creating the collection the designer Elvira Gasanova had been exploring how Ukrainian people are learning the new war-life balance nowadays, acting between helping in different ways to bring our victory closer and doing daily life routine.
“The large part of the collection is based on black color which embodies the sad events taking place in Ukraine now but each of the black garments is complemented with a white sparkling detail – eventually GASANOVA remains a special occasionwear brand. In this way I’d like to show that even passing through the darkness we still move to our next big celebration – the celebration of freedom”, – the designer says.
Deep-rooted Ukrainian motifs naturally inspired the collection as well. Elvira Gasanova reworked the embroidery on a traditional garment named “vyshyvanka” in her own radiant way – by putting delicate crystals on voluminous sleeves of black gown. The other national code that was elegantly woven into the GASANOVA collection is the braid. Glittering braid decorates the shoulders or the neckline or frames the tender cut-out of the dress front. This element symbolizes the connection of the three family generations as the designer always values sisterhood and the power of unity.
