A Dreamlike Eden: Genny SS25 Blooms with Feminine Elegance and Modernity
On September 19th, 2024, in Milan, Sara Cavazza unveiled Genny’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights. The collection combines romanticism with practicality, drawing on lightness and femininity as key themes.
The orchid, a symbol of the Maison, appears in macro and micro polka-dot prints on cotton trench coats and silk twill blouses and skirts. This floral motif is also featured in accessories, such as jewel buttons, and highlighted by Marc Quinn’s painted bronze sculpture, Geography Desire, presented on the runway.
Genny reinterprets traditional suits with striped cotton pajama sets, satin tuxedos with sleeveless jackets, and crumpled organza suits. Corset-like cuts on the sides of pants and dresses enhance the silhouette, giving the designs a controlled yet elegant shape. Eveningwear continues the lingerie theme, incorporating bow bras and corset tops with floral embroidery and ruffles.
The collection’s color palette includes lily-of-the-valley white, sunflower yellow, jade green, wisteria, peony, and bougainvillea, reflecting Bosch’s imaginative florals. Pearls adorn tank-style evening dresses and tulle gowns, adding a delicate touch. Genny’s iconic blockchain motif features in knitwear, creating a jacquard denim effect with fringed finishes.
Footwear includes satin slingbacks, rhinestone-studded cage sandals, and pearl-embellished ballerinas. Bags range from leather totes and bucket bags with the blockchain motif to the iconic Fortune bag, available in three sizes: mini, medium, and maxi.
The Genny SS25 collection highlights a balance between elegance and practicality, offering versatile designs that bring femininity and sophistication to the forefront.
