Founded by K Li and Mischa Yan in 2019 in New York, ABOAB literally means the combination of four blood types A, B, O, and AB, implying brand aesthetics is informed by diversity and fusion, elegance, and simplicity. Combining sculptural forms and precious materials with art-related inspiration and artisan craftsmanship, ABOAB creates pieces that become unique wearable modern artwork and embody a sense of timelessness.
The Spring/Summer 2023 collection, entitled “SUBTLE”, is an ode to the enduring Mid-century Modern. Inspired by vintage vessels and sculptures from the mid-twentieth century, K and Mischa take an organic and minimalist approach to create the jewelry sample by kneading clay with the warmth of their hands. The texture of knuckles and fingerprints carries their current thoughts and power, which gives each earring, necklace, bracelet, and ring a warm, tactile, and emotional resonance that brings people calmness and cheerfulness.
