” For this series, I was inspired by the lotus-eaters from the Odyssey. I imagined these intense emotions of shipwreck men on their shore. Feelings of elations, discovery, bliss. But also, at the same time, something a miss: a suspicion, a reservation, a sense of questioning and strangeness. There are always notions of ‘longing’ deeply embedded in my work, and for this series, those notions go both ways. Near and far. ” – A/S
