Conceptualized only in 2001 and founded by entrepreneur Jamal Abdourahman, Vancouver Fashion Week welcomes emerging designers from around Europe, America and Asia. With its worldwide outlook and very multicultural approach, Vancouver Fashion Week has been dedicated to supporting the success of both established and award-winning new designers. VFW has been established from the ground up by the fashion industry and has become a famous event in the Canadian fashion scene since its debut season.

Expanding its horizons to Vancouver Kids Fashion Week, Vancouver Kids Fashion Week Magazine, Micro Macro Magazine and Global Fashion Collective ( GFC, which produces shows at New York Fashion Week, Tokyo Fashion Week and Paris Fashion week to further propel the global exposure of its designers ), VFW has grown to provide the best opportunities to its designers.

Flanelle has the opportunity to cover this Fall Winter 2022 season, that brings a new wind of freshness from emerging artists. Here at Flanelle, we have carefully selected a few designers that we think you should keep an eye on throughout the week, that not only have a fitting aesthetic but whose collections also share our values. Find our picks in upcoming articles!

During this season’s FW22 showcase, VFW had a special performance to put light and love to Ukraine in support of what’s been happening in Ukraine over the past month.

Vancouver Fashion Week has grown to be the second largest fashion week in North America, and it is still the fastest growing fashion week in the world, owing to its emphasis on diversity. Vancouver Fashion Week’s staff continues to provide its designers with not only a platform for their work, but also chances for commerce and advancement.
