The Lithuanian designer’s latest collection treats leather as a living material, one that bends, drapes, and transforms at the wearer’s touch.
Airida Skrick has built a reputation on garments that refuse to stay still, and AW/27 makes that restlessness structural. The collection, titled “Between Structure and Fluidity,” moves leather across every register of the wardrobe: outerwear, tailored separates, evening dresses, shirts, skirts. The material is not confined to a single role. It is treated, instead, as a surface with opposing states.
The tension between rigidity and suppleness runs through every piece. Sculptural coats are cut with architectural precision, while elsewhere the same material is shaped into ruffles and draped forms that allow it to move with the body rather than against it. Skrick has said she wanted to reveal both sides of leather: its strength and its capacity for transformation. The collection delivers on that intention.

What distinguishes AW/27 from Skrick’s earlier work is the degree to which transformation has been engineered directly into the garments. Wire is integrated into belts, collar edges, and pockets, allowing the wearer to reshape the piece by hand. A straight hem becomes a wave. A rigid collar curves. The silhouette is not fixed at the point of purchase; it is renegotiated every time the garment is worn.
Other pieces operate through different systems. A blue leather dress features detachable draping, and its hem can be left smooth or manipulated into waves. A long black dress in crocodile-textured leather works through a zipper system: closed, it is fully enclosed and severe; opened, it reveals an open back and a high slit. These are not gimmicks. They are a considered position on what a garment is allowed to be.
“I am fascinated by the idea that clothing does not have to exist in a single final state,” Skrick has said. “I wanted to leave space for movement, individual interpretation and a certain dialogue between the garment and the person wearing it.” The collection makes that dialogue physical, tactile, and immediate.

The palette is handled with equal deliberateness. Burgundy, plum, emerald, cognac, and muted blue move across the collection in tones that are rich without excess. Skrick has described the color choices as functional: each shade is meant to emphasize construction and texture rather than distract from it. The materials reinforce this. Pebbled leather, bison leather, and embossed crocodile surfaces each catch and scatter light differently, so that the depth of the palette shifts with movement. A garment that reads as dark and contained in stillness opens up entirely when the wearer walks.
The collection was photographed by Vaidas Jokubauskas, with creative direction and styling by Ula Kotryna Tuleviciute, and videography by Griman. Jewelry is by Laura Antique Jewellery and Justin Studio. Models Ema Avamleh of Baltic Models and Aiste Apolonija Birzyte of Ruta Models wore the collection. Hair was handled by Rugile Kliaugaite, makeup by Juste Frankone and Ugne Siuksteryte.
AW/27 confirms what Skrick’s work has been building toward for some time: a practice in which the maker’s hand is visible not only in the construction of a garment but in the space left for whoever wears it next.
