Et Ochs Spring Summer 2023 at New York Fashion Week

Celebrating the exquisite transient beauty to be found in all things impermanent, Et Ochs Spring 23 col-lection captures the primitive sensitivity and subtle sensuality of flora.

Seam lines are deliberately twisted and hems stretched to reverberate the organic lettuce curl found in nature. Rebalancing opposing elements, sensuous ruffles are gathered, stacked, and preserved into pragmatic Japanese denim, while fragile botanical motifs are molded into graphic crystal-encrusted em-broidery and carved chrome custom hardware. Hems and necklines are enlivened with sculpted horsehair inserts, shoulders are exaggerated and silhouettes sharpened; contrasting the sumptuous female form through revealing cutouts.

The herbarium of poet Emily Dickinson inspired the collection’s print. Floras are patiently hand-painted and preserved digitally to echo the ephemerality of working with nature as a perishable medium. Colors are earthy and vivid: a nuance palette of Optic White, Black and Mercer Denim is grounded by the rich woodiness of Oak and Sienna, while an injection of bright floriated notes of Fern, Cyan, and Bubble-gum bring to mind an early spring walk through tended gardens.

The Et Ochs Spring 2023 collection alludes an awareness of the mortality of beauty; organic and surpris-ing; spontaneous and restrained, Spring 23 proposes an instinctive wardrobe that balances sensuality with strength.
