A series of illustrations to accompany the book ‘Middlesex’ by Jeffrey Eugenides. The novel follows the life of Calliope, a hermaphrodite, and three generations of her Greek-American family who travel from a tiny town in Asia Minor to Detroit to Michigan. The tracing of her family history eventually uncovers why Calliope is not like other girls.
