Naza Yousefi designs her collections from the perspective of a devoted fashion consumer, with Naza Yousefi designs her collections from the perspective of a die-hard fashion consumer with an artistic sense honed by her insatiable curiosity about the world. Her quest for unique viewpoints and shapes began at an early age in Iran, when she would create gowns from her mind, which her mother would later turn into reality. Yuzefi was founded as a consequence of her desire to continue and share her creative joy and astonishment with others. Naza initially polished her ready-to-wear look working in the studios of Christopher Kane and Richard Nicoll after finishing her postgraduate degree in fashion at Central Saint Martins in 2008. Sarah Richardson commissioned her to make handmade leather harnesses for an editorial for i–D magazine, which sparked her interest in the material. Hedi Slimane, Steven Klein, and Patti Wilson all made commissions soon after. She chose to create her own accessories business in 2016 with a bold maker’s vision and a fascination for the sculptural capabilities of leather. Naza’s design and construction philosophy is based on discovering newness in the familiar. Her objective is to design apparel that will offer her consumers that same sense of boldness, as she is armed with an unquenchable sense of curiosity at the world.
