For Collection 05, Collective Swallow did dive into the heart of the Swiss cuisine and turned the classic tradition of „Metzgete“ into an autumn winter collection. A collection inspired by Autumn glow and dishes. Metzgete is a typical Swiss feast, especially at a farm, of sausages and other meat from newly-slaughtered animals. The rural dish is served in October when leaves turn golden and Swiss people go hiking. Collective Swallow turned the meaty dish as well as other Autumn specialties such as pumpkins, or sauerkraut into a variety of wearable garments. For their fifth collection they not only took inspiration from food but also dyed fabrics with onion skins.
Collective Swallow is a fashion collective dedicated to gastronomic fashion, taking edibles a step forward by basing their designs on the visual and sensory experience of food. The designers behind the brand Anaïs Marti and Ugo Pecoraio, operating from Basel and Berlin, with the unifying belief that fashion should not be ruled by gender or seasons.
