Flanelle Magazine Print Issue #26 – The Limerence Edition

This issue’s theme came to mind after researching a feeling some of us may have felt as a teenager. A first crush, an intense love, thinking about the person all the time. It comes from a beautiful place inside, yet can sneak on you from the darkest corner and poison you and your loved one.

Limerence is a state of mind that results from a romantic attraction to another person and usually includes obsessive thoughts, fantasies and a desire to lead or maintain a relationship with the object of his or her love and to see his feelings become reciprocal.

It involves four components; Fantasy, Hope, Fear of rejection and Loneliness.

It can be felt from the inside and seen from the outside. It can be happy or destructive.

In this issue, we wanted to put this feeling into images.

Again, we feel honored to showcase editorials from talents around the globe. We peak into the world and mind of sculptor Kassandra Thatcher, discuss with Killing Eve and Discovery of Witches’ actor Edward Bluemel, and uncover Grammy-winning American R&B Singer and songwriter Grace Weber.

We hope this issue will inspire you as much as it inspired us to create it.
